Pittsworth Show highlights from the Cattle Show Team

The Agriculture Department; 2 teachers and 33 students had an extremely busy time at the 2017 Pittsworth Show. We washed, blow dried and showed 25 head of cattle; 13 Australian Lowlines, 8 Led Steers, 1 Led Heifer and 3 Angus Heifers, we aslo participated in both the Junior Judging and Paraders competitions and a group of Year 11 and 12 girls acted as ribbon stewards in the Stud Cattle rings.

The highlights of the show included – Courtney Janke winning the Junior Judges competition and Cheyenne Fraser placing 3rd, Delanie Holmes placing 3rd in the 15 – 25 Paraders competition, Pittsworth ‘Model’ led by Sarah Cavanagh winning Grand Champion Lowline Bull, ‘Lucerne’ led by Emily Caesar winning Reserve Champion Junior Heifer and ‘Remmie’ led by Sophie Pearce gaining 4th place in the 340kg and under Led Steer/Heifer class.

A big thank you to Year 12 Girls: Delanie, Alysia, Sarah, Cheyenne, Riley and Jess, who did a fantastic job at wrangling the Year 7 and 8s, answering all their questions (there were too many to count) and getting them ready for the ring. Also to Mr Murphy and his Year 11 Agricultural Practices class who set up the cattle beds for us on Friday morning.

Now it’s on to the Toowoomba Royal Show.
