Lowline CalfI’M IN TRAINING FOR THE SHOW SEASON

Warren Show Report

I lead a calf. She was 5 months old. It was my first time and her first time. She jumped a bit but it was fun. I would like to do it more often. I took home a first prize ribbon.

REPORT FROM MACQUARIE COUNTRY SKILLS

This show season our group have been working with two Lowline steer calves and three heifers. In our area, cattle are yarded for judging and the same cattle can be lead for school steer or heifer classes. Provided that they are pestivirus tested, the cattle can be purebred or crossbred. Most of the young people in our group do not come from a farming background, so the smaller shows which offered this setup provide an excellent chance for them to become involved with the show scene in safety.
