Council are pleased to announce the appointment of David Gardner as an incoming Councillor.  Please join us in welcoming David to the Council. Council looks forward to the experience and perspective he brings to the role as we continue to work together to support and grow.

Introduction

Dear ALCA members, my name is David Gardner
By way of introduction my wife Rita and I together with our daughters and grandson have established an Australian Lowline cattle stud “Applegarth Heritage Farm” on the south coast of NSW in the town of Milton.
We have a herd of 30 Lowline breeders and have incorporated an AI/ET program using a diverse pool of heritage embryos sourced to build our registered numbers. This last year has been an exciting journey as we prepared a small show team bred on the farm and attended two royal, local shows and field days with some modest success.
Since joining ALCA and attending shows we have met in person and online a wonderful new community. The ALCA members, councilors and officers have all been ready to offer their support and experience, which has made for a very fast learning path and truly enjoyable experience for our family.
In July this year I will transition toward retirement having built a 45-year career in the broader electrical industry. From humble beginnings as an electrical apprentice I have for the past decades led operations and held the position as CEO and director for global conglomerates and industry groups being responsible for the ASIA Pacific region.
I am both pleased and very excited to have the opportunity to join the ALCA council and look forward to bringing my support to the ALCA council and its members to further the growth and reputation of the Australian Lowline.
Sincere regards,
David Gardner”
