Australian Lowlines stand the test of time in New Zealand

May 19, 2021

Imported into New Zealand from Australia in the late 1990s this compact framed breed of beef cattle is gaining recognition as the true beef producer it really is!

The breed is proving to be an ideal solution for calving issues experienced in the dairy sector with NZ dairy farmers opting to use a Lowline bull in their herds. This serves a two fold purpose – no more sleepless nights for the dairy farmer at calving time plus the bonus of beefy progeny to market.

For the third year running the North Island Lowline Promotion Group has advertised in Countrywide Beef – a prestigious rural magazine distributed annually in May to over 15,000  Sheep, Beef and Dairy farmers in New Zealand. Having experienced the Lowline Advantage for themselves this dedicated and passionate group of breeders is keen to share their successes.

Live in New Zealand? Looking for a breed of beef cattle that has a compact beefy frame and is renowned for a particularly docile temperament?  Then you’ve just found it!
